Ranger Rotorcraft Group has been selected
by EADS North America and its subsidiary American Eurocopter
as a supplier of airborne mission displays, rugged
video recorders and video management systems for the
U.S. Army’s UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter
(LUH) Security & Support (S&S) Battalion Mission
Equipment Package (MEP).
Ranger Rotorcraft Group is providing proven Skyquest
components which will provide aircrews maximum video
capability and flexibility across a variety of missions.
The Skyquest video management system (VMS) is already
fielded with leading law enforcement and military customers
in several countries throughout the world. The
equipment is recognized as the system of choice for
demanding airborne surveillance missions and has proven
reliability in harsh environments.
Each Lakota will utilize three multi-function mission
displays, a dual deck digital video recorder and the
VMS processor which delivers outstanding video quality
to crews on board the helicopter.
EADS North America already has 128 Lakotas on order
from the Army, with potential for up to 345 helicopters
through to 2016.
